Ballerina Mafia is now going on hiatus for a while.
I'm sure you've noticed that updates have become very sporatic. I've had a lot of trouble coming up with ideas I like, and honestly, I haven't wanted to do this comic for a long time now. It's become a bit of a chore, although I know a lot of you really like it.
I'm going to take some time off to focus on other projects, like the writing of Issue #7 for Order of the Black Dog. Maybe I'll get more motivation and ideas for Ballerina Mafia, or maybe I'll decide to wrap it up for good.]]>
Probably last Star Trek comic for a while. Maybe Mass Effect jokes next?]]>
Hey, so the guy(s?) at Two Geeks Talking, apparently some nerd website, interviewed me about comics! That's pretty neat. Go give it a look a hastily taken photograph of myself done on the spot alongside a lot of information you probably already know! Play a drinking game by taking a shot every time they mention how old I am.
Was pretty neat to be interviewed, even if it was more like an e-mail questionaire. Would have been cooler to have to talk on Skype or appear on a couch in front of an audience. What's the matter, media, am I just too real for you?
Anyways, I'll probably only milk this "Saturday night" theme for a couple more weeks. After that, expect some, I don't know, video game humor?]]>
My main webcomic, The Order of the Black Dog, has resumed updating with its exciting fifth issue!
I have also started a Patreon campaign! It's a way to donate pe week to help support my works, especially in the realm of webcomics. If you're a fan of my work and would lke to help out, please take a look:
I've decided to dedicate several comics in a row to telling the story of a normal Saturday night of gathering friends over. Let's hope that stays amusing.
This first one is a joke I've had saved for a while. Made more sense back with the single Immelmann who spent time on Chatroulette, but whatever.]]>
This was mostly Shugwar's idea, so credit goes to him.
Gosh, I don't really have much to say in newsposts any more, do I?]]>
Not a time travel joke - Bill is someone, a real person, who has been hanging out with us for what I'm pretty sure is less than a year... But one of our most common jokes is, no, he's been here forever. We swear it...
Still working on the specifics of the improved art style. Have to strike a balance between simplified and too simple. Expect some artistic shifts as the comic goes on.]]>
And we're back, maybe? Can't guarentee steady updates for too long...
This week: a short break from our dumb time travel nonsense to discuss something that occured to me lately regarding sci-fi. Computers sure love to talk to you, and be spoken to, in science fiction media, but boy does no one want that in real life.]]>
Sorry for the unannounced hiatus, though I'm sure you're used to them by now. I'll try to be more consistant in the future. This time, my excuse was that my british girlfriend came to visit for two weeks, which was pretty distracting.]]>
Tune in Wednesday for a second weekly update!]]>
It's taken three years to get to 200 comics, but Ballerina Mafia has finally limped its way here. I hope everyone has enjoyed the journy.
I must confess that lately I've lost the energy and interest for Ballerina Mafia that I used to have. I'm hoping to get some renewed drive for it in the upcoming weeks. If I can't, I can't honestly promise we'll see #300! Still, hope you enjoy this comic, which wound up almost being a test to see how well you know my own comics.]]>
The forums are back! Old fans will remember the sometimes-quite-lively forums, where weirdo furries can get together, discuss the comics, and meet each other. They've been redesigned and moved to a new URL, so if forums are what you're into, please check it out.]]>
I have two crowd-funding projects I'd like to bring to your attention.
The first is for a friend. He's trying to start a parkour gym and training facility in Utah, which I think is pretty awesome, so if that's something you're interested in - or if you're just feeling generous to a good cause - I'd love to see this campaign go places.
The second is a metal band! They had a really awesome demo out a few years ago and are now trying to independently fund their own album.]]>
I feel like I have to apologize for not taking advantage of an April 1st update. I had a really funny idea for it, but no time - I've been focusing heavily on commissions and such. At least there's a voting incentive this time.]]>
This joke was co-written by Shugwar!]]>
I was really busy this weekend redesigning the site for Black Dogs, so I only had time for this short little comic.]]>
A comic guest starring Melissa from Black Dogs, my other main webcomic!]]>
Happy New Year! Let's end 2012 with a really dumb joke.]]>
Rocksmith is that Guitar Hero clone that lets you plug a real guitar into your computer/PS3/360. It's basically the only video game I've been playing lately. It's quite fun, if very frustrating, and helps you learn some good techniques for the guitar.
It was quite fun to watch the fans of Rocksmith of Facebook bitch up a storm when they figured out the new DLC was Nickleback. Usually, the response to DLC is either "Yay!" or "How about [my favorite band] next?" This time, however... well, the comments put in the comic are actual comments extracted from the Facebook post (Names changed for obvious reason).
Black Dogs news: As of writing this (Sunday), I am in the middle of drawing page 22, out of 23, of Black Dogs, Issue #2. It's been a long time coming, but it shouldn't be too much longer until it's release. The idea of releasing it one issue at a time has turned out to be a big mistake, so once this is out, you can probably expect to see further updates to come once a week.]]>
Finally back on the horse with voting incentives. If you'd like to see an extra joke for this comic, please vote for Ballerina Mafia at Top Web Comics.]]>
No comic last week because I was in Chicago for MidWest Furfest. Sorry for not putting anything up, but for christ's sake if you're not paying attention to my Twitter, Facebook, or FurAffinity accounts, there's not a whole lot I can do for you.]]>
In general, people didn't like the new style, but I'm still going to experiment with it for a while before giving up completely.]]>
Experimenting with a new style for the faces. You should let me know what you think on the forums or on the Ballerina Mafia facebook page!]]>
Looks like the Italian Stalion has been working out.]]>
Sorry I'm so late with this one. Social calls kept me busy all weekend, and then my art "job" kept me busy until now.]]>
I'm back! I'm ending my hiatus with a joke that maybe people won't get.
Since I need to still dedicate my time towards income and The Black Dogs, updates will only be once a week for a while.
Don't forget to click on that little "TWC" link below this post to vote for Ballerina Mafia! The higher the comic ranks, the more views it gets. Plus, every time you vote, you get to see a bonus panel, updated for every new comic. I've been off the game for a while, so let's kick that list's ass!]]>
I think my brother came up with the basis of this joke.
Hello again! This is not indicative of Ballerina Mafia returnign to a regular schedule, but I couldn't let this holiday pass by without a comic.]]>
I'm pretty sure Shugwar came up with much of this idea!]]>
This is an idea I wanted to experiment with for a while now, and finally had the motivation and comic of proper format to try it. It was actually kinda fun, and boy did I seem legitimately insane with tiny cutouts on my desk. I just wish I had a better camera, this comic would have looked a lot better.
I'm going to not do Friday comics for a while. Instead, I'm going to use the extra time to work on that new comic project I've mentioned for so long now. Ballerina Mafia was never meant to be a replacement for Concession. It was supposed to tide people over until the new project, which was never supposed to take this long to start. I know fans are growing impatient in waiting for my next proper comic, and I'm getting impatient as well.]]>
Thanks to QuetzaDrake and Kevin Dulany for sponsoring today's comic. This comic requires flash to fully enjoy. in theory, a non-flash version should appear for those who don't support flash, but I have no way of testing that. If it doesn't appear, please click here for the JPG version.
The song featured is "Ave Verum Corpus", composed by Mozart.
So, I have to bite the bullet and make the incredibly embarassing action of running a poll to ask why people aren't buying my shirts, so please participate in the poll below. This is a different poll then the Google Docs poll, which was getting spammed, so please vote again if you already voted in the last one.
Donate up to 50 dollars and get a comic on Friday. what do you say, kids?]]>
Today's comic is sponsored by Daniel Flynn and QuetzaDrake.]]>
We've got a small stock of shirts to sell, and onc they sell out I'll be selling a bunch more. I'm moving up in the world! So please help me out!]]>
Up for a Friday comic? You know the drill: Raise up to $50 and you'll see one. Donate and you'll get to see your name here in the news post!]]>
Today's comic is sponsored by QuetzaDrake, Cubi Shax, and Charles Bro...Charlie Brown? That's what the e-mail says.
This is born of a series of jokes Shugwar and I have shared all throughout the show. We like to imagine most of the "ghost" characters hanging out a lot off camera.]]>
You know the drill - donate up to $50 and you guys will get a comic on Friday!]]>
This comic is brought to you by QuetzaDrake and Monstersids.]]>
Donation bar's up, you know the drill - if you raise $50, I'll draw a comic on Friday.]]>
Today's comic is broguht to you by QuetzaDrake (again), Johnny Bell, and Jacob Dennis.
I've been blogging! Bare witness to my opinion regarding Skyrim and Sonic Generations!]]>
The donation bar is up, so if you raise $50 you get another comic on Friday! Wee!]]>
Ever really look at an elephant and contemplate the fact that a creature that ridculous looking - and huge - exists in real life? Keeps me up at night, man.
Today's comic is sponsored by QuetzaDrake and AstrumNovus.]]>
Help get that bar to your left to $50 if you ever want to see your precious Friday comic again!]]>
This comic, and your new background, is brought to you by Stephen, QuetzaDrake, and Monstersids!
Every once in a while, I get bored of everything and go a little crazy. This time, I'm trying to fight it with some experimental art styles. This isn't anything permament, just a little one-off to refresh things.
I drew a new background for you guys, and I drew it live on LiveStream. Eventually I'll make the footage into a speed-draw and put it on YouTube.
If you'd like to see a comic on Friday, please consider pitching in to the donation bar. I'm asking for 100 this week - if you hit 100, I've got a cute idea for a background I'll draw for you guys.]]>
Special thanks to QuetzaDrake for funding today's Friday comic.
The Book of Enoch is worth looking into if you're into Christian/Jewish mythology. I recommend this version, which is hilariously exhaustive in it's annotations. Not an easy read, though.]]>
Have a sexy Halloween. As usual, if you'd like to see a comic on Friday, please help raise $50 via the ChipIn donation bar up top.]]>
On Monday, I'll be doing a Halloween comic, then the last part of this silly little story will be on Wednesday.]]>
Hi guys, didja miss me? I had a fun time at FurFright, although I don't have any stories in particular to relay in comic form.
Getting right back to business,
I'm opening the donation bar. If you adorable fans raise $50, I'll post a comic this Friday! If not, you only get two comics this week. How awful! Seems fans donated into the past and already filled the donation bar. A special thanks to QuetzaDrake, Phil, and Jacob!
Additionally, I've been making progress on my new comic project - the next big comic to replace Concession - and really, really want to get it started by the end of the year. Wish me luck!]]>
This comic is generously brought to you by QuetzaDrake, jcheek, Kevin Dulany, Scott Robertson, and Saint Jimmy. Thanks guys!
Unfortuantely, I need a break. I won't mince words with you, dear readers: I'm a bit sick of drawing comics. It happens. Every once a in a while I needa break, so here's another one. I'm sorry! I don't know hwen I"ll start back up, so just watch my Twitter, the Ballerina Mafia Facebook page, or subscribe to the RSS feed.
In brighter news, I finished the background I owed you guys. I hope you like it.
Maybe one of the stupidest comic's I've made for a while.
If you'd like to see a comic this Friday, please think about tossing a couple bucks to that donation bar on the left!]]>
I realized I should start publically thanking people when they donate to Ballerina Mafia. So, in the future, if you donate adn wish to be anoymous, say so! A special thanks goes to:
I will have a biopic or background (not sure which!) for you all by Monday!]]>
To answer some common questions regarding the previous comic:
Yes, it's entirely true.
Yes, I'm fine.
No, I don't want someone to talk to about this, but I do appreciate the sentiment.
Now that I caught up with the owed Friday Comics and Bio Pictures, it's time once again to open the donation bar. If you want to see a comic on Friday, please donate! Even moreso if you'd like another cast picture or, more likely this time, a desktop background.]]>
You can now find more art and information on Lucas, my brother's character, in the cast page! Background-size versions of his images will be forthcoming.
That concludes the three Friday comics and three bio pictures that that big donation earned. Come Monday, the donation bar will return!]]>
I finally managed to draw a cast picture for Ossia! It can be seen in the cast page and in the downloads page.
I've done the three Friday comics that I've owed since that big donation, but I still owe two more character bios. They're comin! Just a bit slowly.]]>
I've drawn up a nice big picture of Clarissa for the Cast Page, and you can also find it in the downloads page!
Sorry for both a delayed and short comic. A friend is soon moving to a college in a different state, so we were giving him a fond farewell. I spent the night ghost hunting in the supposedly active site called the Bridgewater Triangle. They all saw stuff, but I didn't feel anything. Still had fun, though, felt like an adventure, and I'll probably write some comics about it.
As for the comic: the true story of this was that my group of friends went to the Outback Steakhouse every week for a month or two and each ordered an order of Cheese Fries, which was an appetizer with 4+ people in mind. We usually got close to finishing all our plates, too. We were about as famous as anyone can get in a local restaurant with the staff, and for a while, the cooks required a lot of convincing by the waiters before believing the order was real.]]>
I apologize for being late. Hopefully you can see why! This one was involved even by Concession standards.
100 Ballerina Mafia comics! Thanks for getting me this far, guys, you all have been pretty great fans. I'll see you at 200.
The donation bar got to $300, so I owe you (based on some fan polling) 3 Friday comics and 3 bio pictures for the cast page. Unfortunately, I'm probably skipping the next two updates, just for this week. This comic wore me out a bit and I have a lot of commissions I really need to catch up on. Sorry @_@]]>
Since Monday's comic is #100, it may be delayed a little, as I want to do something slightly special for it. Patience please!]]>
I don't believe in divination, but I am 14 years old, so a Necronomicon Tarot Deck is still interesting to me. It requires a very specific card arrangement that Eecho didn't remember, so we didn't actually get any good readings from it that night. I went and boguht my own, so maybe I'll accidentally summon something in my bedroom.
Interested in the deck? You can get it on Amazon, or try other bookstores if you have a gift certificate or something. Bought mine at Barnes and Noble.
EDIT: OF COURSE I'M NOT ACTUALLY 14 GUYS C'MON USE YOUR BRAINS. It's a joke about my immature tastes. Christ, I didn't think it was that convoluted of a joke.]]>
Here are the results from the poll:
It's good to see that RSS isn't dying and that I was right to commit to facebook posts. I'll try setting up some sort of e-mail list for the 100 of you who like it that way! Maybe a text message service too, dunno how easy that is. Thanks for participating!]]>
If you'd like to see Ballerina Mafia update on Friday, please donate via the bar on the top left of the site!]]>
I'm trying out Flattr, and you'll see the button above the newspost, below the comic. If that's something you're into, I sure would appreciate... your money. I guess it works that you pledge to pay a certain amount each month, and it's devided between all the sites you "flattr". So feel free to Flattr me?
I'll post the results of that poll some time next week.]]>
This was actually one of the first comics I jotted down for Ballerina Mafia, but it wasn't until now that I could fully write it out into something worth posting.
I'm running a poll! Just something I'm curious about.]]>
You know the routine: if fans raise $50, you'll get a comic on Friday. Check out the donation bar on the left of the comic to see where you are. I won't ask for money for a character bio this time, since I haven't gotten it in a while.]]>
I'm back from AnthroCon! Well, I was back Tuesday.
I'm bringing back the donation bar, which you will see to the left of the comic, above the ad, assuming you don't have an adblocker. If fans donate up to $50, you'll get an extra comic on Friday! If you raise $100, I'll draw a full portrait for the cast page - maybe Ossia, maybe Matt and Joel, maybe Clarissa!]]>
I've thouguht about actually buying a Venus Fly Trap to take care of the occational fly or mosquito hawk that gets into my house. Apparently they're finky bitches though and need to always be moist and stuff. We'll see.
Are you going to AnthroCon? Here's some information regarding my presense at AC!]]>
I don't think I have many friends who aren't obsessed with the Mass Effect series or giddily anticipating the third game. BioWare has created expectations of titanic proportions, and with talk of a Mass Effect movie and an MMO, the ending of the trilogy could stand the one of the most significant - or most disappointing - video games for a long, long time.
The news about gay relationships in Mass Effect 3 is confirmed, and certainly old news for anyone keeping updated with the game. When I drew this comic (Saturday! or maybe Sunday), the Kinect support was merely a rumor, and most of us just assumed it was some funny glitch. E3, however, proved to everyone that it will be using the mic in the Kinect to let you command your troops. Interesting, but that's not the type of game I want to play. It seems like it will be fun to at least try it out, so I'm wondering if it will be just for the Kinect, or if computers with mics will be able to use the function as well.]]>
There was some minor deliberation to be had about where Sphix works. If I ever do more comics about his work place, it thus creates two different restaurant settings for Ballerina Mafia - Sphix's work, Olive Garden, which is in Utah, and Nicole's work, outback Steakhouse, which is near where Shugwar and Immy live. Though incredibly minor and not something most people would ever notice or think about, having two different restaurant locations for jokes seems incredibly redundant to me.
I settled on just "dealing with it", as the only other solutions were to either use Nicole/Cecil for this and further jokes and thus give Sphix less comic time, or make Sphix work with them at the Outback, which would conflict with the fact that Sphix lives far away from Immy, a fact already established as true. If Ballerina Mafia ever becomes an animated cartoon and stays based on the comic, I'll probably retcon things a little and simply have Sphix live in the same town.]]>
Unfortunately based on a true story.]]>
I got three prints done this week, which is not as much as I'd like. So it goes, I guess. I'll still make more and I hope to have a good selection ready for AnthroCon. While I'm at it, I think it's about time I made some stickers for Ballerina Mafia.
The inaccuracy of this comic is that he had that thing when he moved in, so it's rather old news for the two of us.]]>
Wookieepedia tells us the story of how not only did Boba Fett escape the Sarlacc Pit, but he then proceeded to fall two other pits during the course of his life. I had this idea for a while, but thanks go to Shugwar for assistance on the execution.
So if those Christians are right and the world is ending this weekend, I would hate for you guys to not see one more update on Friday. But if you don't raise at least $50, you might not get it, and then dooms day will be here!]]>
Joel is talking about this website in particular, complete with an alarming count down. If numerology and heavy biblical analysis are things you enjoy, then you'll find the site pretty interesting.]]>
This comic was partially inspired by some forum discussion. Apparently it's a common misconception that transsexuals can have children? That's just silly.
Just to remind you: If fans don't donate at least $50 to that donation bar, you won't get a comic on Friday! And that would be awful!]]>
Surprise! It's Corpsie!
The donation bar has remained almost at zero this whole week, which is highly embarassing for me, but even more tragic for you all. Don't you want a Friday comic, or a nice fully-drawn picture for the cast page? If you guys don't step up, you won't get either! Could you live with yourself for letting that happen?]]>
We only hit $50 this week, partially because I didn't open up for donations until Wednesday, so there's no full character art this week. That's partially a good thing, since I want to draw Ossian for the next one and I still need a lot of practice drawing humans. If you guys raise $100 and I don't feel I'm up to drawing a human, I'll find someone else to draw, don't worry.]]>
It took a little longer than usual, but I got you guys a new image for the cast page. This week, it's Malik!
I have now reset the donation bar. If you want a bonus comic this Friday, someone had better get donatin'!]]>
Sorry for the delay. The full character art I owe you will be done in time for Monday's comic, maybe.]]>
This is based on a true story. Additionally, there was an entire second light in my bathroom for months without me noticing.]]>
Here's your cast bio picture! It's Sphix!
Hit $100 again and get it all for next week!]]>
It's late, but here is the full cast picture from donations - It's Zoë!
The full character art gift that you guys get for making it to 100 dollars will be delayed. Probably will get it done by tomorrow afternoon. Not sure what I've been up to this week that's been eating up all my time...
Traditionally, on April Fool's Day, web comic people tend to prank their audience - say they're shutting down, or changing their format, or offering a porn subscription service, or something. This has never struck me as funny. It seems like a wasted potential, pranking your audience instead of something harmless and actually funny in the long term of doing a comic about the holiday instead.]]>
Welcome to the new Ballerina Mafia website! Obviously the old design wasn't nearly professional enough for my needs, but it was never intended to be long-lasting. Let me know if you have any comments on the new site! Make sure you check out the downloads page and the about page, which are updated by now.
This comic is adapted from the real adventures of myself, Shugwar, and a few of our friends in high school, where our wood shop teacher essentially broke us out of school to avoid a pep rally.]]>
Slightly late, but your donation goal has yeiled this cute cat-related background. You guys like cats, right?
That background is now avaiable in various sizes on the downloads page, which will soon feature desktop-sized backgrounds of all the character art I've done so far.
The donation bar is (will be?) restarted for the new week. Hit $100 and I will make new, full-style art of a character in Ballerina Mafia. Who? Well, you'll just have to find out, won't you?
Hopefully by the end of next week I will finish the re-design of this website, so look out for it!]]>
Epam, Shugwar, and Malik all have been playing Pokemon Black/White, so now I have to buy a DS and get the game myself. Jerks :c]]>
Hi! You guys raised $100, so along with your Friday comic is this full-style cast picture. It's Epam!
He, along with the other full pictures, are available to look at on the cast page, and in a little while I'll be making a selection of background-sized images for you to download.
This week, I'd like to make a more general Ballerina Mafia background to download as the $100 donation gift.]]>
Well, you guys raised $100, so along with this friday comic, please enjoy your full character art of Shugwar, featuring his demon form, Khaziael:
Let's do it again this week!]]>
I make this Seinfeld comic following the loose tradition of such comics by other great webcomics.]]>
Sweet, you guys raised $100. Thanks! Expect to see enhanced art for someone in the cast page some time later this week!]]>
Ballerina Mafia now has a cast page! So take a look and learn about some of the names and faces that up until now were just whispered legends.
If you look next to Immelmann's information, you'll see a link to a nice big picture of the character drawn in my full art style. I'd like to do this for all of the characters and present them as desktop backgrounds, but unfortunately this is a time-consuming activity and I really need to spend my time working on paying rent and buying food. So, I have a proposition:
$50 donated will get you a Friday comic, as always. $100 of donations, and I'll do a nice big picture of one character next week from the cast section. If that works out, I'll make it a weekly thing - I'll surprise you with the character drawn, and sometimes I'll mix it up and make it a more general desktop background.]]>
"Ossian" is based on a Gaelic word that means "deer". See what I did there?]]>
Shugwar's art in this comic was drawn by the actual Shugwar.]]>
This is partially the fans' fault, all presuming that Concession #374 was in fact a movie, and it's also my friend's fault, who inspired it with his Concession article on his homepage. He also helped with Roland's jokes.
The donation meter is restarting now. If I get $50 in time, I'll do an extra comic for Friday. It's been working good so far!
EDIT: I've reached my goal in three hours this time. Thank you!]]>
You can blame Shugwar and E-Pam for the Solar Flare endings.
Well, the weekly donation goal idea seems to have worked pretty well. This week's, again, is already paid for. I'd like to offer more goals after $50, but I can't think of any rewards that will stay consistantly interseting. 4 comics a week is too much, and I could only do a couple desktop backgrounds before that idea gets tired. Does anyone have any ideas?]]>
True story regarding Shugwar's mother, exagerated of course, but apparently it got on national news.]]>
Wellp, via a glitch I guess, or maybe just a misplaced setting, the donation bar went up to 200%, so it looks like I owe you Friday comics for two weeks. Cool!]]>
Here is your bonus Friday comic. Thanks to everyone who donated. I'm starting the graph over now, and if it hits $50, I'll make another comic for next Friday.]]>
My heterosexual room mate got along alarmingly well with my boyfriend, who spent most of the week shirtless on my bed.
I am experimenting with ChipIn this week. It's that blue box to your right, above my Twitter. If, by Saturday, I receive $50 in donations, I'll make a third Ballerina Mafia comic - with a voting joke and everything - and post it the next Friday.
If this ends up being successful, I may make it a weekly thing, and might make more rewards for higher totals (desktop backgrounds maybe). It uses PayPal, so most of you should already be able to donate.
Edit: Well, I expected fans to fritter around for a while before reaching my $50 goal, but you guys got me there in three hours. Thanks guys! Rather than waiting for next week, there will be an extra comic this Friday, at which point I'll start a new donation campaign (50 bucks again) for the next Friday. Let's make this a weekly deal.]]>
The original promised premise of Ballerina Mafia was that not only would it not have story arcs, but that it would not be autobiographical. Well. Turns out my life became interesting, so I'm sorry if this bothers anyone but I'll be spending a bit of time talking about some recent events in my life. After that, I think I'll get back to more random humor and give some Concession characters some screen time.]]>
The glorious return of Ballerina Mafia also heralds a change in the visual style, more detailed and more suitable for animation. I hope you guys like it, it's not a HUGE change, but it's something I was developing during the "break".
This is a comic featuring, and conceptualized by, Eecho, who wrote you that comic about Jesus.
I hope you all remember that you get a bonus joke for every new comic if you toss a vote for Ballerina Mafia at Top Web Comics!]]>
More humor based almost entirely on real-life events, which seem to be more popular with fans than any other type of humor. More of my brother and I on Wednesday.]]>
Today's comic is part of my tradition of Concession Christmas comics, also featuring Campy from Furthia High. Thanks to Eecho for the general concept of the comic!
Now that the first snow has fallen, my furry form has switched to his white winter coat of fur. That'll probably come up in the next comic, but I wanted to make sure I had a Christmas comic on time.]]>
Based on an entirely true, three-week story.]]>
There's a new vote button on the right-hand side of the page that says "Comic Basement". There are no rewards for voting on that one, but I'd appreciate it if you all tossed me a vote there now-and-then.
The reason we don't have anything beyond Season One is because it would have cost too much for them to buy the rights to all the music the show used. Quite the shame, I really do think that was one of the better shows on television during my childhood.]]>
Original idea created by Eecho!
A lot can be say as to which race one should depict Jesus as. I mainly use descriptions found in the Book of Revelations as my reasoning. Pilate's appearance is based almost entirely on the 1973 film version of Jesus Christ Superstar, although I gave him a proper Greek sort of skin tone.]]>
When I drew the comics for this week, I sorta forgot that Thanksgiving was coming up. Thus I have to break my Concession tradition of having Thanksgiving comics, which is a shame, because I actually do like the holiday. If you people want, I can do one for next week, if that's something important to you. Speak up!
Malik, a real-life friend who appears today and in the last comic, is a badger-goat hybrid. E-Pam's original species was sheep, but I made him a cat insetad.
It was a fun night. E-Pam was wise enough to give me his keys, despite all of us knowing full well that we weren't going anywhere for another five hours. We watched Dexter, which was fun until we realized we'd have to watch five episodes again with E-Pam while sober so he can actually remember what went on.]]>
It's some sort of Garden Spider. It lasted quite a long time in that sliding glass window until, we assume, cold weather got the best of it.
I forgot to tell you guys that I made a downloads page with some icons based on some of my favorite scenes so far. I'll probably make a few backgrounds to put up there some day, too.]]>
Reading a list of facts about owning a pet octopus is simply a delight, and partially seems to be a list of things that you shoudn't do "unless you want to have some fun." Let the thing escape and leave unguarded fish bowls in the room? Yes please. Blue Ring Octopuses are incredibly lethal to humans? Sign me up. The fact that you have to keep them entertained by putting their food in puzzles seems like endless entertainment.]]>
Spiders are fascinating creatures. They're not the only ones who disguise themselves as ants, of course. Typically they actually look like spiders, so much so that humans can be fooled.]]>
From now on, if you vote for Ballerina Mafia at Top Web Comics (the blue button below the navigation to your top-right), you'll get a bonus joke for every comic! So be sure to vote every time you see a new comic for even more inane humor.]]>
Today is a continuation of a Concession tradition, the Halloween Party. I can't do it on Concession because of how plot-happy it is right now, so I hope you non-Concesson-fans don't mind too much.
The theme was Villians. Part of the joke is to guess what they all are, but that's not realy much of a challenge this year, as them explaining their costumes was part of the joke. The only ones not made literal are mine, which is Vegeta from DBZ, Joel, who is dressed as The Monarch from Venture Bros., and Matt, who is dressed as Dr. Mrs. The Monarch. Ever the pretentious one, Joel chose an alternate costume for The Monarch, based on a breif fantasy scene in an episode of season one (The Trail of the Monarch).]]>
You may have noticed some new-fangled buttons just below the comic regarding Twitter and Digg and such. If you like Ballerina Mafia, I'd very much appreciate it if you could help spread the word and share some choice comics with your various internet friends. Thanks :3]]>
Traditionally, I don't draw clothes in this style, but I always do when humans are involved. Naked chibi furries are cute, but naked chibi humans come off as a little creepy - in my opinion, anyways. Thus, to not create a double-standard, I'll probably putting everyone in shirts from now on.
I know this information is painfully interesting to you, but please try not to riot with joy.]]>
Some help on this joke from QuetzaDrake, mainly in making the ending funnier.]]>
Generally speaking, this comic will NOT be autobiographical, and will not just be another "At the Heart of it All". But, if jokes come to me regarding my life, I'm gonna share 'em.]]>
